The DG-808 is
made by Dirks-Glaser. It
declines in two spans: 15 m with winglets, and 18 m with winglets and tips. We at ICARE
are very proud to offer here a (~1:3) exclusive super-scaleTM reproduction
of the 18m open class version of this high performance
glider.
Never flown such large glider, you will get the
ultimate soaring experience with this high performance glider and be
surprised how docile this glider is in the air, a real performer. It will allow you to explore all the soaring capability, from smooth graceful thermalling to the taste of light aerobatics. Its outstanding
behaviour makes it a great candidate to amazing distances for scale cross country
flying. Again: ultimate soaring!
This glider comes completely built, and
ready for radio installation. Only a few hours are required, before you go to the field.
The sheeted foam wings are glass and carbon reinforced and already covered with
Oracover. Wings are coming with two sets of molded wingtips. Airbrakes are
installed and ready to be connected by the mean of a mini servo. Ailerons and
flaps are hinged ready to hook up. The high
gloss, gel coated Fiberglas fuselage has the wing joiner carrying tubes, the rudder
and elevator installed. The cockpit comes with all main components like the instrument mushrooms,
seats, head rests done, it is the most detailed cockpit ever made. Canopy opens
to the front like the full size.
Landing retractable wheel comes with brakes are installed and ready to work,
like the tow release. A small package hardware and short building instructions are completing the kit. If you would like to venture into
large scale gliders this DG-808B is a must!
In the case of special wish there are installed water
ballasts,
2 x 1,25 l – out put
radio controlled, in moulded version only.
Landing gear with brake are detailed. Cockpit with stuffing and painting
instrument panel. Landing retractable
wheel comes with brakes are installed and ready to work, like the tow
release. A small package hardware and short building instructions are
completing the kit.
We of course also offer the self launchable
DG-808B,
it will come with either the 18" unit standard
or optionally with the 20-22" unit and will require 24-30 cells. It will
take off the ground with ease and give you at least three full height
launches.
Radio requirements are two micro servos for the ailerons,
two for the flaps and two additional micro servos for the airbrakes. Four regular servos
for the elevator, rudder and retract. Additional servos might be installed for aerotow,
brake of landing gear, and water ballast.
