The 17 meter ASK-21 is a two-seater
performance glider still in production. It was designed for instruction, training,
aerobatics and cloud flying and has a glide ratio of 34:1.
This ASK-21 was
designed from the original Schleicher factory drawings, and designed as a large
scale model. Besides its great flying characteristics, it can hardly be
differentiated from its full size counter part. Aerotowing with this ship is a
pure pleasure, the very smooth handling, its ease in thermalling, as a very
decent high speed performance, makes this glider a must to have. It will also
easily perform a realistic aerobatic routine.
This kit has been designed with transportability in mind,
so besides the four piece wings, the fuselage brakes down in two piece, and the
whole kit can easily be transported in a compact car. This also allows easy
assembly and brake down. Wings are joined with aluminum joiners, the fuselage
features an interlocking shape where it brakes down. It is assembled with
screws. Even the installation of an sls is possible.

In this landing gear, two spring shock absorber
on each side of the wheel, will act as pressure shock absorber.
The spring load and travel has been designed the load of this
ASK-21. The assembly is made from high strength aluminum, all
CNC machined. The included wheel has a diameter of 140mm
(5-1/2"). This landing gear has proven to be very usefully in
take offs and landings, by offering smooth rolling. The weight
saving, but very robust design has proven to last for every day
use.
