The DG-303 Elan acro high performance
standard class sailplane is the latest development of the well proven DG-300
Elan, offering improved performance over the total flight regime. It is in
all aspect the same as the regular DG-303 Elan except structural to withstand
the stress of aerobatics manoeuvres. Also for air shows the DG-303 Elan ACRO
will be the perfect aircraft as the appearance of a standard class sailplane is
more aesthetic than a glider with short wing span designed for aerobatics
competitions only.
This 1:2.3 scale size of this glider
is a great all around large scale glider. The MH airfoil has a wide speed range
and very
smooth flying characteristics, it responds well to thermal and
it's low camber allow for high speed and great energy retention for aerobatics.
This is a great all purpose glider, it has been successfully power as well as by
turbines or electric self launch systems . The optional winglets
are great for the additional handling in thermals.
This is a highly
prefabricated kit, all components are hollow moulded technology. Fuselage comes
repainted for seamless top and is carbon reinforced sandwich technology. Wings
are hollow moulded, carbon reinforced, control surfaces are live hinged and
gapless.
Radio requirements are high
torque servos for the
ailerons and flaps, mini for the airbrakes, two high torque servos for the
elevator and on for rudder. An additional servo might be
installed for aerotow.
