The
DG-800S from Glasser Dirks was first introduced in 1991 and is still in
production. It is available with either an 18-meter wing or a 15-meter wing with tip
extensions available to make an 18-meter wing.
This kit is a nice semi-scale reproduction of this
airplane at 1:4 scale. It can be flown with either 3.75 meter with or an 4.5 meter wing much
like the full-scale counterpart by interchanging wingtips against winglets. The
reasonable wing loading, the adequate airfoil choice makes it a great glider to
tow and get into large scale soaring. The behaviour is very predictable so very
easy to fly.
