The 17 meter ASK-21 is a two-seater
performance glider still in production. It was designed for instruction, training,
aerobatics and cloud flying and has a glide ratio of 34:1. It's gentle flying is
as well loved by the students as the instructors.
All parts of the model are model in the traditional
aircraft technology. Two component paint is used to color the parts, so they
will keep their white aspects for years. Wing joiner and locating pins a factory
installed during the moulding process. Servo wells for the aileron and airbrakes
are ready receive their servos. A substantial square aluminum wing joiner is
used. A fibreglass canopy frame and removable wheel covers (as full size) are
competing the kit.
The flight characteristics are just a pleasure, smooth and
docile handling. With a such a low wing loading for this size aircraft it will
just float. Its very large stab (for its size again makes it an incredible
stable airframe. Thus it has great thermalling capability, low speed turns are
forgiving. Even at high altitude, the plane is easily recognisable because of
it huge wing chord.
Since its construction is very sturdy, any aerobatics is
possible, while it doe3s not have the roll rate of a Swift or Fox, it will do it
as a king. Even snapping and hammer heads are not a problem.
this ASJK-21 is also well suited for the installation of an
sls, its large fuselage provides many installation possibilities. And the weight
penalty will not affect its flight characteristics. Current offering will fit in
this plane, like the AFT 25 or SLS belt driven 22". And with the long nose the
battery can be used top balance the plane without any problem
