The Cirrus high performance glider
started the era of all composite glider at Schempp-Hirth factory in Kirchheim,
Germany, in the early 60's. In 1968, The Cirrus won the open class World
championship in Poland.
ICARE I offering here the Prototype version
which was built with a V-tail. The original had a wingspan of 17.7m and a
retractable landing gear. The unique look will appeal to the discerning modeller
and its smooth flying characteristics will please the scale pilot. It is a great
entry level, mid-sized glider for aerotowing. Very sturdy construction for
aerobatics and slope flying. While the E203 airfoil gives him a wide flight
envelope and great thermalling capability.
The kit comes highly prefabricated, and with all moulded parts. High gloss white
fibreglass fuselage, top of fuselage repainted for seamless look. Hollow moulded fibreglass and carbon reinforced wings, all
control surfaces live hinged and gapless. Airbrakes installed. Round wing joiner rod and tail joiners. CNC
trimmed canopy and optional scale like canopy hinge method possible. Position
for retract marked on fuselage for easy installation. Installed airbrake.
Requires 1:4 scale retract.
