Hand launch it into a thermal and catch it back at walking pace
flying speed, this flying wing will fill with enthusiasm
youngster and skilled pilots. Modeller will discover new flying
area like baseball fields, small soccer fields, parks or even
golf course. This is a new generation of parkglider, five bend
gull wing shaped planform made from resilient Flexit+ gives this
flying wing an atypical shape. At only 270g (9.5oz), the white
SportWing will catch easily the lightest thermal.
The wing is one piece molded out the highly resilient Flexit+,
which is similar to EPP but lighter. Only 23 high quality parts
allow an easy and fast assembly of the model. Accurate CNC
machined wood and thermoformed parts facilitate its
construction. A large decal set will cover the whole leading
edge providing a great look to the design and giving additional
protection.
Final assembly requires only two sub-micro servos and a receiver
with battery, and the model is ready to go. The SportWing white
is easely converted to electric and so widens its application
possibilities. Other options which were made successfully is
aerotowing with a powered parkflyer, or bungee start with a
light upsart.
For hard slope flying the SportWing blue is made out of heavy
EPP (about 20% heavier), which makes it very durable. The
additional weight will allow it to fly in strong winds and it
will withstand the rough landings. (The SportWing blue is not
suited for electric conversion, due to the mass distribution of
the heavier foam it is difficult to achieve the proper CG with
the electric setup). |
