The ASW-19 is a nice semi-scale
reproduction of the T-tail glider produced by the German company A. Schleicher,
Flugzeugbau, in the mid-seventies. It was an evolution from the ASW15b and the ASW17.
Designed for the FAI standard class with his 15m span, it is great performer. This model
is best suited for slope flying, but will do well on a good thermal day. Due to its high
aspect ratio, the ASW-19 will cover a lot of ground. Building and flying require some
skill, thus the designation of intermediate pilot.
The kit comes with a white gel coated
Fiberglas fuse. The wings are presheeted with obechi and the ailerons are routed. A
clear plastic canopy with a Fiberglas tray, all wood, hardware, building plans and
instructions are included with the kit.
The ARC wing kit comes with the wings
finished. Wing joiners are installed, leading edge, tip block ailerons facing glued on and
sanded.
