The Avionik D-2000 was initially intended to supersede the D-99. The airframe was designed to receive a smaller, more compact power setup. So this airframe is very competitive for pylon racing, actually faster then the D-99, but not being able to complete the course because smaller capacity batteries have to be used. It is also a great sport plane with lighter setups (the small Mega or even the mini AC from model motors). This plane has also been used successfully in F5B SP400.

The weight and construction of the different components of the model are:

  • Fuselage: Kevlar/carbon, high pressure 10 kg/m2, weight: 27-32 gr.

  • Wing: sandwich of Fiberglas/carbon - Rohacell - Fiberglas, carbon spar.

  • Stabilizer: sandwich of Fiberglas/carbon - balsa - Fiberglas, weight: 9-11 gr.

  • Requires 30mm spinner, for use with 4.7 x 4.7 or 5 x 5 Cam prop.

The model requires three good quality sub-micro servos. Recommended power system is Hacker B40-F5D carbon.
