Mini servos for the wings

Alexander Schleicher latest high performance glider. The ASW-24 is the standard (no flaps) and the ASW-27 the open class version (with flaps). ICARE offers here a (1:3.75) scale reproduction of each, as an easy step into large scale glider.

This model is excellent for aerotowing, and great for thermalling, as it has very slow flying ability. Stall is smooth and predictable. Able to make stable turns without tip stalling. If you have access to a slope that permits you to fly this glider, the flapped HQ airfoil gives you a very wide speed range with amazing energy retention. You may even afford aerobatics.

This is not a kit, the model comes completely built, and ready for radio installation. Only a few hours are required, before you go to the field. The wings are sheeted foam, with carbon and glass reinforcement. Completely finished, covered, hinged and with Teck spoilers installed. The ASW-27 has additional flaps. The high gloss, gelcoated Fiberglas fuselage has the wing joiner carrying tubes and control linkage installed. Tail surfaces are finished. A package of small hardware and a building instruction are completing the kit.

An all molded version of each type is also available. Hollow molded wings, giving an accurate replica of the full size glider. Clean and accurate airfoil will also lead to great performance

Radio requirements are two micro servos for the ailerons and two additional micro servos for the flaps on the ASW-27, three regular servos for the elevator, rudder and airbrakes. An additional servo might be installed for aerotow. Also optional is a retract wheel for perfect scale (included in the all molded version).
